Our General Maintenance Mechanic Engineer III provides our guests and associates with a safe, comfortable and efficient work environment. They perform general repair and maintain the integrity of the hotel with various projects, specifically in our internal laundry area. • Our Mechanic Engineers are skilled handyman who can repair leaks, fix minor electrical problems, paint, plumbing and a/c repairs and assist with projects as needed. • They multi-task are organized and can flex their style when needed in other areas of the hotel. • Respond to job assignments in repairing, installing, and preventive maintenance as directed by management. • Become thoroughly familiar with all phases of operation and maintenance necessary to operate and repair all refrigeration systems, laundry, and kitchen equipment. • Continually assess the preventive maintenance schedule to ensure that equipment longevity, avoidance of repairs and down time, ease of operation and efficiency are all being maximized pursuant to manufacturing recommendations. • Install new equipment and systems as directed. QUALIFICIATIONS To join our Engineering team as a General Mechanic Engineer I, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent education. Be able to speak, read, write and understand the English language. Good communication skills are required. A minimum of three years previous experience working as a general maintenance handyman, with minor electrical, painting, plumbing and a/c repairs skills is preferred. Must remain organized, neat, and accurate and always deliver high quality service and results. •Lifting of up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, and occasionally lifting up to 100 lbs. is required. •Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours in length. •Must be able to work well with all members of the Engineering Department and all other members of the Hotel Staff. •Must promote a cordial and caring attitude toward all other department heads. •Experience in all phases of mechanical/electrical systems. •Appropriate technical schooling would be helpful. •Blueprint reading. •Ability to communicate with hotel guests.
