Job Description

We seek an experienced marketing professional, passionate about creating awareness for a high-end hotel. They will be responsible for developing, implementing, communicating and managing the hotel’s overall brand and brand marketing programs, initiatives, special projects and events with a focus on restaurants and lounge’s. The successful applicant will be held accountable for implementing successful initiatives and programs that drive awareness, room nights and covers and are aligned with the short-term and long-term financial goals. The Marketing Manager works closely with the property DOSM, DORM, F&B Team, Public Relations, Hotel Manager and/or General Manager, and reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing. • Provide assistance and support to the Director of Sales and Marketing and other leaders as necessary • Build and execute 12 month rolling segmented marketing plans for the hotel and restaurant(s) with specific goals and budgets. Prepares and executes working plans to achieve goals. • Supervises and directs photography for advertising, collateral and public relations purposes in liaison with DOSM & Marketing & Communications Specialist, Social Media Manager and/or Field Marketing as required. • Works with designer in coordination of advertising (all mediums), direct mail and collateral for the hotel as needed – may include copy writing, photography, layout and placement • Liaise with Corporate Field Marketing team on upcoming marketing programs; communicate and support the roll-out and operational execution marketing programs at the property level • Develop and fulfill sponsorship and partnerships relations and programs • Pursue partnerships that focus on building exposure, driving room nights and cover counts • Plan and execute promotions and special events; work with suppliers as necessary • Liaise with social media manager and assist with content on social media platforms and online presence • May be asked to create stand-alone profiles and content for restaurant and lounge social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram and maintain regular posting updates • Liase with Social Media Manager and/or develop Social Media strategy • Assist with all public relations and media relations activities for the hotel. Liaises with Marriott Canada & Asia-Pacific PR Teams as necessary on story angles etc. • Manage media requests from all channels • Compiles and maintains a comprehensive list of media contacts. • Ensures press kit and press page information is comprehensive and current. • Keeper of hotel websites- look and feel, content, links • Monitors activities of competitor hotels and trends within the industry. • Assist, lead and/or present at bi-weekly meetings • Any other duties as assigned Other: Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meetings is required. Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with Starwood rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel's facilities.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education required; preference given to candidates with certification in marketing and communications • Knowledge of marketing principals • Four to five years’ experience in a marketing or sales department • Travel industry experience preferred • Superior computer skills in Microsoft Office required and experience with PDF Editor • Strong communications skills both verbal and written required • Must be comfortable working in an online environment • Strong analytical skills • Excellent organizational skills • Strong aptitude for multi tasking and working to meet tight deadlines • Embraces change quickly and easily • Multi language skills is preferred
