Job Description

The responsibilities of Account Director is to sell on behalf of all hotels in the cluster to maximize revenue and enable hotels within the cluster to meet and/or exceed their revenue goals. The primary focus is development of new accounts and retention and penetration of existing accounts and shift share and increase revenue to Starwood Legacy Hotel. 40% - Develop, execute and update strategic action plans and exploit cross selling abilities to achieve and exceed sales goals. Source new accounts and opportunities for Groups and Leisure accounts. Identify key client motivators to close business. Drive the implementation and adoption of Starwood management reports and tools to understand and optimize wholesale and group performance of MNST hotels: Daily pickup report, Pace report, Funnel report, ISAC, allotment materialization reports etc; for example ADR growth and change in Market Mix for resort hotels and top 50 wholesale account production versus contracted rate for city/ Island hotels. 20% - Work with hotel teams to share information to meet and exceed key customer hot buttons for winning closes. Develop strong internal and external customer relationship with the focus on meeting allocated goals. Maintain a good understanding of all existing and upcoming brands within the MNST portfolio. Become a brand/destination champion. Working closely with DOS and assisting the junior associates. 15% - Seek knowledge of customers, market trends, competition and share intelligence. Ensure all systems are kept up to date with relevant sales activities and information. 20% - Attend trade shows, conferences and industry meetings. Plan and execute sales trips, calls, site visits and client entertainment (travel may be required). 5% - Support all MNST initiatives and participate in team events.

Requirements

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities: • Strong sales and negotiation skills • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Superior organizational, time management and follow through skills • Ability to maintain and strengthen existing customer relationships with external and internal clients • Ability to source new customers • Present and represent all hotels in their specific brand voice • Proven relationship building abilities • ISAC • Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Education Bachelors Degree preferred Experience 3+ years Hotel Sales Experience
