Job Description

General Duties and Responsibilities •This cook position will be responsible for culinary tasks needed to support garde-manger kitchen, menu planning, recipe development, training of other cooks, cost controls, inventories, ordering supplies, managing expenses, etc. as well as full responsibility for the pastry kitchen. •Prepare pastries, baked goods and deserts for the various food & beverage venues in the hotel as well as banquet functions. •Develop new recipes under the guidance of the Executive Chef. •Assist and help coordinate all pastry menu planning and implementation. •Ensure food standards and presentation are maintained and always improved. •Constantly strive to improve operating procedures; ensure standards are being met and exceeded in all areas of production.

Requirements

•Must possess 2 + years’ experience as a cook. •Must possess prior experience producing pastries and desserts. Banquet experience is favored. •Must be a strong communicator with fluency in English required. •Must be able to work a flexible schedule (including early mornings, late nights, weekends and holidays) to accommodate all business objectives. •Must possess computer proficiency to include MS Office, Word, Excel. •Current HAACP and ServSafe certifications are preferred. •Those with bi-lingual abilities are preferred.
