Job Description

As an intern you will become a valuable part of the Culinary team to insure that all food products are prepared maintaining our quality standards consistently at all times. You will be responsible for assisting the Chef or Sous Chef to insure that all required preparation for the next day is completed. This position requires knowledge of all basic cooking methods including preparation of stocks, sauces, consomme, cold sauces and as well as all preparation of meats, vegetables and fruits.

Requirements

Qualified candidates will be able to stand for up to 6 hours at a time, must have excellent knife skills, be able to lift up to 50lbs, the ability to push/pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250lbs, the ability to work in extreme temperatures such as freezers (-10F) and kitchens/outdoor kitchens (+110) possible for one or more hours, will be certified to handle food in California, and be able to work a flexible schedule (nights/weekends/holidays.) Our ideal candidate will have previous high volume kitchen line experience preferably in hotel/fine dining restaurant, and a working knowledge of health code requirements.
